There is so much to experience!

The Editrix

We ChronicBabes can get swallowed up by all the bad things we have to deal with day-to-day. But there are so many awesome things out there to experience! Take the opportunity this summer to try some new things and you just might find they help you feel better. Read a new author, check out that new restaurant down the street, listen to a new band…just try it!

New today at ChronicBabe.com:
Everything is new and waiting for you!

Ezra

Good friends of Editrix Jenni had a son two days ago. As she cradled little Ezra in her arms, all her concerns and pains faded away and her focus zeroed in on the little miracle she held. Sometimes, Babes, there is great power in distraction and newness. It can take us out of our fretting and show us perspective—and help us deal with our illness more effectively.

What's on our plate?

Peace 175

Fresh ink. Editrix Jenni got a tattoo last week (designed by her pal Naz) and it’s healing beautifully. Not only did she conquer her fears about the pain of the experience (it wasn’t so bad, really!) she created a permanent daily reminder: peace is every step. In each moment, we can choose to see the bad or the good, the peace or the conflict. She’s aiming for peace. How ‘bout you?

Did you know?

The National Pain Foundation just launched a brand-new web site with a rich community of members, and you can participate for free! Join the conversation and learn new things—you probably have some great advice to offer, too.

What we're up to lately...

Trying lots of new things…spending time with our friends’ kids…getting some sun…playing with Gist... eating cherries and mangoes…getting some ink ... listening to live music outdoors…putting together a new web site to promote Editrix Jenni’s freelance writing and inspirational speaking…savoring the warm weather…listening to Nick’s music... STILL planning a trip to New Orleans…and wishing all of our wonderful fellow ChronicBabes all the best of the season!

Fab five: sites we love right now

Fibromyalgia AWARE
For a pittance, you can read this excellent magazine online and get lots of inspirational stories and information to help you manage your disease.

Anatomical Merit Badges
Were you a Girl Scout? These merit badges would look great on a sash; Editrix Jenni wants them for hers. Enjoy, and get inspired to perhaps make your own.

50 Million Pound Challenge
Need some inspiration and tools to lose weight? This program is fantastic, with everything you need—and it’s FREE. Dive in, Babes!

Modista
Finally, the comparison shopping site we’ve been craving. Beautiful visual presentation and a wild assortment of goodies. Talk about a gift—you’re gonna love it!

Protect Your Job Even With Illness
The New York Times offers a story of illness on the job, plus advice and resources for working with your employer to get accommodations and more.

TAKE ACTION!

Think about that soda pop you’re drinking. Is it really worth it to gulp down those extra calories? And, asks Laurie Edwards, is soda the next big tobacco?

Check out Bing, a new search engine (well, they’re calling it a “decision engine”) that offers tons of neato features. Sure, it’s built by Microsoft, but we’re digging it!

And if that’s not enough, check out Spezify, which offers you visual search results. Try plugging in health terms and you’ll be tickled by the wild collection of results.
