OK, so this newsletter has WAY more than five trends.
It's so hard to narrow it down to just five! So maybe I've packed this issue with more than five trends I adore right now. I think you can handle it. After taking a few weeks off of ChronicBabe work, I'm back on the job and ready to show you some new tricks... Starting with the fact that Justin Timberlake can be your interior designer. SWOON. Did you know?A Chicago gal has created KLUTCHclub as a fun way to sample the latest health and fitness resources for less than $18 a month. My first box had a yoga DVD, snacks, coconut water, and much more. That's a steal! It's part of the "curation" trend, where we look to experts to guide our focus. And I ADORE it. Use code 10PERCENT to get a discount when you sign up! What we're up to lately...Babes, my recent apartment move really kicked my butt. All that packing, prepping, cleaning, unpacking, and the kicker - moving from an elevator building to a 3rd-floor walk-up - tuckered me out. For a babe with fibromyalgia, it was kind of a recipe for exhaustion. But I'm on the upswing and psyched to be back in your inbox with fun goodies! What am I up to lately? Interviewing for interns...making my home gorgeous...eating sushi...trying out a new gym (and personal trainer)...meditating...traveling to Cleveland...planting fresh herbs...sticking with Weight Watchers...and generally feeling thankful and peaceful. XOXO - Jenni Do a friend a favor—forward this newsletter! Goodie Bags are handed out every other Tuesday. Interested in advertising in the Goodie Bag? Want to submit an idea? |
Fab five: sites we love right nowThe Weight of the Nation - Take action! I love the new trend of media projects that give us ways to take REAL action, instead of just watching passively. This HBO series' website has steps you can start taking NOW to get healthier. I'm giving it a shot - how 'bout you? Sara Gorman's Pillbags (and Pillfolds) I learned about these little bits of gorgeousness from Leslie Rott of Getting Closer to Myself. They look so fashionable and eliminate any excuse I have for not carrying meds on-the-go. Trendspotting: Fashionable meds? Yes! Swedish Covenant Hospital: Re-examining mental health through art Disclosure: They're a client of mine. Because they're AWESOME. Especially because they inform our community about the collision of art and health, a trend I adore. Fabulous infographic: Fibromyalgia If you've ever struggled to explain this condition (you KNOW I have), this infographic is a great primer. I'm seeing more and more of these visual maps to health knowledge. Yay! Inclusive Pill Bottles for the Blind Not only are these dramatically cute, but they're also functional, allowing blind folks to access their medications. And why shouldn't blind folks have cute-looking pill bottles, I ask you? |
TAKE ACTION!Join our Patients For A Moment blog carnival, scheduled to run next Thursday, May 31. Our theme: Fresh Start, wherein we'll host blog posts about changing routines, trying new docs (or meds, or recipes, or workouts), and giving things another shot. Here's the scoop on entering; Deadline is Wednesday, May 30 at 9am CST. Check out the New York Times Well Blog, which is packed with interesting news, recipes, resources and more stuff we all love. It's pretty much the coolest mainstream media health blog I've found. (And YES, that IS a challenge! Prove me wrong by sending me something cooler!) Get inspired with 10 lovely things from The Simple Dollar. Nope, these aren't only money-related inspirational moments - they're just things founder Trent things are awesome, and which have inspired him to be healthier, more financially solid and happier. |
