Time for a fresh start

The Editrix

Happy new year, Babes! We’re so grateful for everything we have, and for you as part of our awesome community. This year we have lots of big plans: more Podcasts, big growth at the Forum, new videos, more cute ChronicBabe merchandise to show your pride, and even a ChronicBabe event where you can meet Editrix Jenni, other Babes and hear terrific speakers. Hurrah! What would you like to see from us in the new year?

New today at ChronicBabe.com: 2009: The year in review

Pinkt shirt ladies

Let’s hop in the time machine for a moment and check out some of our most popular articles from 2009: Grand Rounds (introducing you to great new blogs); tips for creating a new, healthier surrounding; playlists to help you remember to Breathe and Sleep; and tons of new resources for living well in spite of fibromyalgia (which also apply to almost EVERY ChronicBabe!). So, what were your favorite articles of 2009? Speak up!

What's on our plate?

Orange folders

Big fresh starts here at ChronicBabe HQ. We’re switching to a Mac computer setup and cleaning out the office to make a fresh start. We’re working with some new partners on some very cool projects. But most of all we’re taking each day at a time, pacing ourselves and looking at change and growth as long-term processes. We hope you look at change that way, too!

Did you know?

The ChronicBabe Forum has almost 400 members now and we bring in new folks every day. It’s a great space to talk in-depth about issues and solutions, and we add new content all the time. Join the conversation, learn something and contribute. Your voice is vital!

What we're up to lately...

Getting back into the swing of things at the gym...holding true to New Year’s resolutions to cut out coffee and donuts...loving the Macy’s after-holiday clearances online ...enjoying home-brewed beer at Matt and Meg’s house...listening to music we loved in the 90s and having flashbacks...loving the new music we find listening to Pandora ...reading about mindfulness (and trying to practice it)... relying on the help of friends and the kindness of strangers...and thinking about all of you. We wish you the best of everything in the new year! XOXO

Fab five: sites we love right now

But You Don’t Look Sick Explores the After-Holiday Crash
Christine has lupus, and her mom Janet writes eloquently about the post-holiday crash she experienced. Sound familiar? Commiserate...and then ponder ways to avoid it next year!

10 Trends That Must Die
Well, according to these bloggers anyway. Hilarious, and thought-provoking...what do you think?

Be There: the See First Blog
Evan Falchuk writes movingly about the importance of simply being there when a friend is in need. Food for thought, Babes. Are we giving as good as we get?

Cake Wrecks
This hilarious blog takes a pause on mocking and shows off some gorgeous delicacies. Maybe they’ll inspire you to learn a new baking technique this year?

Wait it Out
TED Talks gives us Imogen Heap playing a beautiful live version of her song “Wait it Out.” It encapsulates what many of us go through every day and we hope you find it comforting.

TAKE ACTION!

Check out some new health tools, which we found through Daily Candy: KOR water bottles which are gorgeous and eco-friendly, or customizable Power Balance wristbands that help you improve your balance.

Snag some cute goodies and get freebies to boot! ShanaLogic is offering a free hairclip to anyone who buys one of these products or a free tote bag with purchase of these goodies. Beautifully made and so gorgeous!

Start a book club! It’s simple and fun. Editrix Jenni just started one with a couple friends, women who are curious to explore different aspects of spirituality. It’s a great way to learn more and have fun. Give it a try! Pick a book now.
